This Sunday is WWE’s Hell in a Cell PPV. This show is essentially a one match show with much of the under-card being rematches. This main event is being billed as the final match in the series of matches between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar.
This feud first had it’s start in 2002 where Lesnar had the Undertaker’s number. Lesnar would return to the company almost a decade later but it wasn’t until 2014 when these two legends would lock up. Brock achieved the unthinkable when he ended the Undertaker’s Wrestlemania Undefeated Streak. This may have been the biggest win in WWE history as there will be no one else who can ever boast of such a feat.
Almost a year and a half later, the Undertaker returns and squares off against Lesnar at Summerslam this past year and resorts to less than honourable tactics to ensure he extracts his revenge on Lesnar. To date, the Undertaker has not convincingly defeated the Beast, Brock Lesnar and this Sunday I don’t think he will be able to.
Let me begin by saying my favourite professional wrestler is the Undertaker. His longevity in the business, his persona, his array of classic matches and his reputation backstage make him one of the greatest of all time. That being said I am not convinced that this Sunday Undertaker will finally overcome the Beast. Contrarily, I think Lesnar will destroy the Undertaker like never seen before. This Beast will be confined inside a cage for the first time in years and Lesnar has a history of destroying and dismantling opponents inside a cage–what else would you expect from a caged Beast?
Many assumed Lesnar’s and Undertaker’s final match against one another would take place at Wrestlemania 32. Since it is taking place now, many think Vince McMahon has something bigger in store for both men at the Grandest stage. I am anticipating we will get a tease of what is forthcoming for either man. Personally, I believe that Lesnar will brutalize the Undertaker and defeat him but will not cease his beating on the Undertaker. I think this will enlist the help of fellow competitors including Kane and John Cena. Kane will rip the door off as he has done previously and protect his brother from further onslaught. As Lesnar and Kane fight their way up the ramp, Cena will play hero and check on the Undertaker. Undertaker, a proud gunslinger, will not take kindly to the undesired help. Undertaker will lay out Cena with a tombstone to end the show. Both men will vanish from WWE for some time and fans will be able to guess if this will be the future match at Wrestlemania.
