WWE Money in the Bank 2014 Predictions

ImageHe certainly is and let’s hope he will make this company money for years to come.

ImageA mid-card tag team match to showcase two teams that deserve to showcase their skills on the WWE Network. I think the team of Goldust and Stardust should pick up the victory in this one. For those who think that as Stardust picks up wins that this will be the last we see Cody Rhodes, I encourage you to be patient because Stardust is a means to an end. I foresee this team breaking up and Cody Rhode’s unveiling his mean streak. Stardust will wipe away the paint and tell his brother it wasn’t the change of Cody Rhodes to Stardust that the team needed but that the team needed to rid itself of a loser like Goldust (Goldust takes the losing fall in the match that is Cody’s breaking point). The seeds are planted for a split as far as I can see.

ImageAll I can say about this match is that thankfully it wasn’t just a random match thrown together. This isn’t going to go down as one the epic feuds of this decade, but it has been built up over weeks. Does the winner return to Fandango? If that’s the case then I certainly want Layla to win because Summer Rae is a bigger star without Fandango. If Summer wins and it’s a victory for who gets the final word and she breaks up with Fandango publicly then I want Summer Rae to win; after all only a coward breaks up with a woman over Twitter, a real man does it in the middle of a wrestling ring in front of 20,000 people in an arena and millions watching on the WWE Network.

ImageLoved the match they had at Payback. Short, sweet and to the point. Would have preferred Rusev vs. Mark Henry on this show.

ImageThis match should be better than anticipated. I would love to see these two women be given time to showcase their in-ring skills. I think, unfortunately, that the outside story that hovers over this match will be more of the focus. Naomi may push Paige to her limits and be on the verge of victory…that is until Cameron costs Naomi the match and the title.

ImageThe Usos have been champions since March when they won the titles in Chicago. They are certainly the top team in the WWE and demonstrated that in an impressive victory at Wrestlemania. Since that time, they’ve teamed with Cena to battle off the Wyatt Family and in my opinion that elevated the status of the Usos. This match is certainly third from top and the 4 men in this match are upper card guys which is tremendous for the prestige of these titles. I’m torn between the result of this bout. I’d love to see the Wyatts win but I’d hate to see the Usos loses the belts. If the Wyatt’s win, I’m not sure who their opponents would be past the first rematch with the Usos. If the Usos win there are some other team in NXT who could be called up to feud with them. Regardless, these two teams are equally at a higher level then any other teams, this should be a fun match!

ImageI would be disappointed if Rob Van Dam and Jack Swagger won this match as they’ve already won and successfully cashed in to win a World title. That logic being said, I wouldn’t mind if Dolph Ziggler won. It would be the resurgence that Ziggler needs to once again be a focal point of WWE programming. I think it would be exciting and unpredictable if Kofi Kingston won. It could be a tool for Kingston to use in order to turn into a wrestling villain and give him a new side to his character. Bad News Barrett’s participation is in question but he is another guy who I think has a real shot at winning this match as well. Deam Ambrose could certainly win it but I think Rollins will prevent that from happening. Finally, Rollins may be Mr. Money in the Bank. With Triple H adding him to this match and backing him, a victory here could solidify his decision to turn on the Shield. I can see Rollins and Ambrose battling over this case at the next few PPVs. Since Rollins has a year to cash-in, he could cash-in on Roman Reigns some time next year and bring Reign’s dream of being champion to an abrupt end. How about that for long term booking?

ImageLet me ask the following question:
Would you like to see Brock Lesnar vs. Kane? NO!

Would you like to see Brock Lesnar vs. Sheamus? NO!

Would you like to see Brock Lesnar vs. Alberto Del Rio? NO!

Would you like tot see Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton? Read my piece on bringing back CM Punk last year, I did. Not anymore!

Would you like to see Brock Lesnar vs. Cesaro? Yes, the implosion of the Paul Heyman guys, but I’d hate to see Cesaro have a short World Championship reign. A match to look for down the road.

Would you like to see Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns? Yes, but similar to Cesaro, I don’t want Reign’s first title run to be a short one

Would you like to see Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt? As I said in the beginning of the piece, Bray is money but he is long term money and so he doesn’t need to win the title yet. He’ll be a champion sooner than later in his young career! Although this would be a physical match I just can’t see the draw of two villains fighting one another as the main event on a show.

Would you like to see Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena? Yes. If you’re still reading this, thank you for allowing me to explain. Lesnar will get his revenge for that absurd loss that halted Lesnar’s momentum upon his return. Cena is the only man in this match that can afford a short/transitional title reign. It’s two marquee names on the poster and will sell out the Staples Center.
