The “Macho Man” was born to perform on the Grandest Stage known as Wrestlemania. If you look back at some of his matches they are among some of the top matches in Wrestlemania history. If you look at his opponents, Savage competed against NWA legends like Steamboat, Rhodes and Flair and against WWE legends like Hogan and the Warrior and brought out the best of his opponents. Randy Savage has a remarkable Wrestlemania legacy. His match with Steamboat may be the best Wrestlemania match of all time. Savage would win a tournament held at Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship and would hold on to the title until the next year’s Wrestlemania–the only man to ever do so. Savage would have a classic match versus the Ultimate Warrior and although he lost he would emotionally reunite with his former valet Miss Elizabeth. Savage won the title once again at Wrestlemania, a feat that few men can boast. Wrestlemania and Randy Savage will forever be linked; a stage set for the best performers and a performer set to compete on the best stage.
