As I review the list of Chris Jericho matches at Wrestlemania I fail to see a poor performance on Jericho’s end. Jericho lived up to the hype that is a Wrestlemania outing for any Superstar. In his first Wrestlemania, Chris Jericho competed in an entertaining and unique bout where two titles were on the line. Jericho was able to walk out the European champion on that night. The next year he successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship. His third match in, Jericho was already in the Main Event and walked in as champion. Unfortunately Jericho would lose on that night, but within 3 years he already established himself as a Main Eventer on the Grandest Stage. In following years Jericho would compete in some fantastic grudge matches against the likes of Shawn Michaels and Christian–just an athletic encounter to determine who was the better man. Jericho would introduce the idea of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and competed twice in the Ladder Match coming up short both times. Jericho would go on to defeat three Hall of Famers and brought out the best of a retired Ricky Steamboat which was an awesome sight. Jericho found himself in the title picture once again and this time was able to walk in and walk out as champion. Jericho got one more stab at the WWE Championship but was unsuccessful. We see that through Jericho’s lengthy career he accomplished all he could: Main Event, title match after title match and classic bouts. Now Jericho faces a challenge that is not foreign to WWE veterans and that is having a young blue chipper call them out for a match to prove themselves.
Have we seen the last of Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania? I doubt it, but what I do know for sure is that WRESTLEMANIA IS JERICHO!
